PURPOSE OF ROLE: 

Support customer service at point of sale while ensuring a world-class shipping experience. Record customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system according to company policies and standard operating producers, with zero tolerance toward inaccuracies and elimination of fraud rist.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 / Matric 

• Minimum 6 months' cashier / till operations experience 

• Computer literate - MS Office

• Sound numerical skills 

• Strong command of English (written and oral)

• Basic customer service 

• Willing and able to work retail hours 


KET DUTIES:

• Adhere to Dis-Chem's customer service policies and procedures 

• Establish professional relationship with customer 

• Report customer complaints and compliments to Frontline Superstores or store management

• Be responsible for cash flow and handle daily takings confidentially 

• Transact all purchases - receive and process all payment (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons)

• Process all loyalty cards including Discovery Health Care, Medihepl, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards and Bucks

• Ensure cash is placed in drop safe according to Dis-Chem SOPs

• Ensure all outgoing stock/ items/ scripts are scanned and paid for 

• Be alert, recognise and report suspicious behaviour to management 



COMPETENCIES REQUIRE:

• In-depth knowledge of operating cash register and maintaining cash drawers 

• Knowledge of processing sales, refunds and payments

• Accuracy and attention to detail 

• Presentable, trustworthy and honest 

• Emotional intelligence and social awareness 

• Accountability, problem-solving and time management 


ADVANTAGEOUS:

• Third additional language 


SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

• Willing and able to work retail hours 

• Relaible transport and/ or reside in close proximity to the store 

• South African citizens 

• Clear credit and criminal records
