Their client for this role is a well-established residential property development group that delivers large-scale housing and residential estates across the country.

The company is known for delivering high-quality residential properties on time and within budget. They are now looking to expand their site management team in Cape Town with a dedicated and experienced Site Manager. 

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of construction projects in Cape Town. You will manage daily operations on site, ensure that project planning is accurate, and coordinate the programme to ensure successful projects delivery.

You will be the main person on site. This means you will coordinate subcontractors, labour, materials, plant and all resources to maintain productivity and meet programme requirements. You will also monitor budgets, handle cost reporting, reconciliations and control P&G (Preliminaries and General) expenditure.

Quality is critical. You will be expected to ensure strict adherence to quality standards, project specifications and construction procedures. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on turning building plans into completed, successful development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EXPLAINED: 

To be considered for this Site Manager position, you need to meet the following:

1. Experience: You must have a minimum of 10 years' experience within the construction environment. This shows you understand how construction sites work from the ground up.

2. Education: You need a BSc or National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management or a related field. This qualification proves you have the technical knowledge.

3. Senior Experience: At least 3 years' experience as a Senior Foreman is required. This is important because you must have led teams before.

4. Residential Experience: You must have proven experience working on residential properties. The client specializes in residential, so this is non-negotiable.

5. Quality Systems: You need an understanding of construction quality systems and testing procedures to ensure homes are built to standard.

6. Financial Skills: Knowledge of budgeting, P&G management and cost control principles is essential. You will be controlling millions of Rands.
